  24. I know, I was being too harsh there.  I sometimes criticize MUI haters for
  25. flaming MUI programmers... guess I just made myself guilty of being almost
  26. as rude myself -- against programmers who use MagicWB.  Shame on me...

  28. But still -- how high percentage of Amiga users run MagicWB?  More than 2%?
  29. Probably.  More than 20%?  I *seriously* doubt it.  The rest of us -- i.e.,
  30. the vast majority -- will see a really ugly icon with weird colours, unless
  31. we have taken steps to make MagicWB icons look reasonably sane.

  33. Don't programmers realize that this isn't the best first impression they
  34. can give the potential users of their programs?  If they don't care; fine.
  35. But then they won't care that the bad first impression makes some people
  36. more likely to dump their programs in the trashcan, either.

  38. IMHO, the "default" setup should always use icons that follow normal
  39. Workbench conventions.  Even a blank icon template, or the default SAS/C
  40. program icon, is better than a weird-looking MagicWB icon.

  42. MagicWB is *NOT* the standard Amiga look (and hopefully never will be). 
  43. And it doesn't mix well with the standard look, either.

  45. Besides -- re my original comment; *any* program I get has to be *REALLY*
  46. good (or promising) for me to keep it :-)  And if it uses MagicWB icons, I
  47. just Select All and choose my Create Default Icon menu item... so it's not
  48. /that/ big a deal.  Just something I don't like.
